Brett Saunders, a man who started downloading indecent images of children just 16 months after he was released from prison for similar offences is back behind bars.

Brett Saunders, of Beaulieu Close, Toothill, had thousands of pictures and movies of child abuse on his computer which he was banned from owning.

The 40-year-old was caught after an investigation by the Child Exploitation and Online Protection Centre into a website where ‘bespoke’ images of abuse were made.

Rosie Collins, prosecuting, told Swindon Crown Court the site could only be accessed by prior knowledge and involved having specialist software downloaded.

“It was a site were movies were effectively being made to order: bespoke movies,” she told the court, adding there was no indication he had been involved in ordering abuse.

They traced one of the users to Saunders and arrested him at his home in Swindon in September last year. When they searched it they found a laptop, a hard drive, two thumb drives, and a mobile phone, none of which he was allowed to have.

The hardware and storage media were examined and found to contain more than 5,000 images and movies of children being abused.

Miss Collins said the vast majority of them were of victims under the age of 13 with some as young as three or four years old.

She said in May 2010 he was jailed for eight months and also put under a sexual offences prevention order.

The terms of that order meant he was not allowed to use a computer or other device without approved filter software and the permission of the police.

When he was questioned he admitted he had been downloading indecent images of children saying he couldn’t explain why he started doing it again.

Saunders pleaded guilty to breaching a sexual offences prevention order, eight counts of making and one of possessing indecent images of children.

He was jailed in 2010 after a work mate found one of his CDs of vile images lying about at work, and when police were closing in on him he threw a laptop into a river.

Graham Bennett, defending, said that during his short prison sentence he received little help for his addiction to the material he was looking at.

He said he knew that he was facing the prospect of a jail term for what he had done.

Passing sentence Judge Euan Ambrose said: “Between November 2011 and September last year, a period of about ten-and-a- half months, you searched for, sought out and downloaded no fewer than 5,672 indecent images of children.

“In all probability there were more on your computer, but the police only have resources to catalogue them so far.

“You express remorse and a desire to seek treatment. While there is no reason to suppose those expressions are not sincere, they have to be viewed against the background here of repeat offending and the manner in which you breached the sexual offences prevention order.

“These were offences committed within a relatively short time after your release from your last prison sentence.”

He jailed him for two years and eight months and imposed a new sexual offences prevention order for when he is finally released.

Matthew Woodgate, a convicted sex offender jailed after targeting children at Stour Leisure Centre in Ashford

A sex offender – banned by a court order from targeting children – has been caught chatting with two eight-year-old boys.

Matthew Woodgate, 22, had been given the ban for downloading disgusting images of children.

But in June he approached the boys at the Stour Leisure Centre in Ashford– in defiance of the Sex Offences Prevention Order.

He began asking them intimate questions and offered one of them money – frightening him so much he told his mother that he feared he was about to be raped.

Woodgate, from Maidstone, later told probation officers he was curious to discover if the boys were “sexually aware”.

The sick pervert then confessed his urges were “like floodgates opening and then drowning me in my own thoughts” and could have led to contact with his victims.

But in jailing him for two years, Judge Adele Williams told him: “You have an entrenched, distorted and perverted view of sex with children and pose a high risk of harming them.”

Jack Hodgeson, a paedophile from Idle sentenced for sex assaults on girls

Jack Hodgeson, a paedophile who sexually assaulted young girls at a church youth club has been given a suspended prison sentence.

Jack Hodgeson, 65, took advantage of the girls, as young as eight, when they attended the club where he worked during the late 1980s and early 1990s.

Hodgeson tried to kiss one eight-year-old in a walk-in cupboard as they put away equipment, but she struggled and escaped, prosecutor John Topham told Bradford Crown Court yesterday.

The second victim – described as one of his favourites – was also eight when Hodgeson kissed her in the cupboard in a sexual manner.

The third girl was sexually assaulted twice, when she was eight and then when she was 11. Mr Topham said that on the first occasion the defendant picked up the girl and held her against his body.

The second assault involved kissing her on the lips.

Mr Topham said the offences came to light in 2012 when one of the victims saw the defendant working as a volunteer. She contacted the other victims and they all went to the police.

Hodgeson, of Gerrard House, Idle, Bradford, pleaded guilty to four charges of indecent assault.

Judge Jonathan Rose told Hodgeson he had been in a position of trust and responsibility to the girls but he also noted that he had pleaded guilty.

He sentenced him to three months’ imprisonment suspended for two years and ordered him to carry out 180 hours of unpaid work for the community.

He also ordered him to undertake a medium-level activity for 30 days, “to assist you to come to terms with the fact you are a paedophile”.

Judge Rose added: “What you did was not affection. It was sexual behaviour towards little girls. The community deplores such behaviour.”

Hodgeson was ordered to register as a sex offender for seven years and prohibited from working in any employment which would bring him into contact with children.

After the case, Detective Constable Jodie Hayes, of the Bradford Child Safeguarding Unit, said: “Hodgeson was in a position of trust and took advantage of that fact to commit what were a series of serious offences against young girls.

“We will not tolerate this type of behaviour in our communities, and I would urge anyone who believes they have been subjected to this type of crime to come forward by calling Crimestoppers, anonymously, on 0800 555 111, or the non emergency 101.”

Trevor Wilkinson, a Sellafield worker has been jailed for 10 years after he admitted 33 sex crimes, including three rapes.

Trevor Wilkinson, who lives in the St Bees area, was today locked up for the offences – the rapes, seven serious sexual assaults, some allegedly on a victim who at the time was not conscious, six offences of voyeurism and 17 other offences, mostly relating to his possession of hundreds of child pornography images.

One of the offences related to the possession of 926 indecent still images of children of the second most serious category and 55 moving images of the same category, relating to children aged under 13.

Carlisle Crown Court heard the scaffolder’s offences dated back to 2002.

Speaking following today’s sentencing, Detective Chief Inspector Nicholas Coughlan said Wilkinson, 51, had answered for the “horrific crimes” and justice had been served.

“The victims will have to live with the memories of his actions and our thoughts continue to be with them.

“There is no excuse for Wilkinson’s unthinkable actions and I am glad that he is now facing prison for his crimes,” he added.

Neil Wilson, a paedophile spared jail because his 13-year-old victim looked older and was a sexual ‘predator and was egging HIM on’

A judge allowed a paedophile to walk free after his 13-year-old victim was described as a ‘sexual predator’ who was ‘egging HIM on’ to engage in a sexual act.

Judge Nigel Peters told Neil Wilson, 41, who pleaded guilty to the abuse, he had also taken into account the fact the child looked older.

Wilson lured the teenager to his home in Romford, Essex, where he watched her strip out of her school uniform before she performed a sex act on him.

The abuse did not come to light until the girl confided in a friend who then told police.

During a search of Wilson’s home officers also uncovered a stash of images and videos depicting child abuse and bestiality.

He admitted a string of charges but was handed a suspended sentence at Snaresbrook Crown Court.

Judge Peters told him: ‘You have come as close to prison as is imaginable.

‘I have taken in to account that even though the girl was 13, the prosecution say she looked and behaved a little bit older.

‘You knew she was not nearly 16 as she said and your plea of guilty recognises that you knew.

‘Allowing her to visit your home is something we have to clamp down on and in normal circumstances that would mean a significant term in prison.

‘On these facts, the girl was predatory and was egging you on.

‘That is no defence when dealing with children but I am prepared to impose a suspension.’

Wilson was handed an eight-month jail term, suspended for two years, and will also be supervised by the Probation Service for the next three years.

He has been banned from contacting children and must allow police to examine his computer, as well as attending a sex offenders’ programme.

Wilson met the schoolgirl when she asked him to buy cigarettes for her while she was playing truant.

He enjoyed a two-week ‘fling’ with his victim, during which he bombarded her with phone calls and text messages and she continued to visit his home, the court heard.

Prosecutor Robert Colover, told the judge: ‘The girl is predatory in all her actions and she is sexually experienced.

‘She appeared to look around 14 or 15 and had the mental age of a 14 or 15 year old despite being younger than that.

‘There was sexual activity but it was not of Mr Wilson’s doing, you might say it was forced upon him despite being older and stronger than her.

‘As for the images, there were eight found of child abuse images, four of which fall in to the category three.

‘There were also 11 images involving horses and dogs found on his computer.’

Wilson, now of York, pleaded guilty to two counts of making extreme pornographic images and one count of sexual activity with a child.

Mervyn Rush, a paedophile ex-teacher caged for 14 years after admitting assaulting boys as young as nine

A paedophile ex- teacher has been jailed for 14 years after admitting 18 sex attacks against boys aged as young as nine.

Mervyn Rush, 68, was originally charged in 1999 but went on the run while he was waiting to go on trial.

He was finally arrested in France earlier this year and was extradited back to the UK to face charges over the offences, which took place between 1973 and 1977.

Science teacher Rush, formerly of Dorking, Surrey, worked at a school in Norfolk, which cannot be named for legal reasons.

The court heard that the charges – which involved 12 different victims – were only ‘specimen’ counts that represented years of abuse of a group of ‘special’ boys aged under 16 at the school.

One boy claimed he had been attacked 20 times by the father-of-three.

Rush, who wore glasses, an open necked shirt and blazer in court, showed no emotion as details of his abuse were read out.

Prosecutor Stephen Spence revealed that Rush would sexually assault boys in his bed after they had brought him a cup of tea and that he would take them for drives in one of his luxury cars.

Prosecutor Stephen Spence told the court: “Mr Rush had a group of special boys and it was seen as something of a privilege to be part of that group.

“The group was made up of the more popular boys and it involved certain perks.”

One of these “perks” was to bring Rush a cup of tea in the morning. The boys would visit his room in pyjamas and he would invite them to get into bed to keep warm before sexually assaulting them, Mr Spence added.

Rush had a collection of sports cars including a Lotus, an Austin Healey and a E-Type Jaguar and he would invite boys out for drives with him.

He would also invite his victims, who were aged between nine and 16 and cannot be named, to stay up late to watch television.

Sentencing him, judge Stephen Holt said: “You were at the centre of a special group and all the boys wanted to join that group.

“You were in a position of trust and were eventually brought to justice because of the concern that one of your victims had about what you may still be doing to children.”

Rush, formerly of Dorking, Surrey, pleaded guilty to seven counts of buggery and 11 of indecent assault against boys aged under 16.

He denied 24 further charges which the prosecution will not proceeded with.

One victim told police: “All this at 13 seemed very attractive to me and when I was asked by another boy if I wanted to join the group, I accepted.

“The first time I was invited to his room he produced a magazine – I think it was Mayfair – and asked us what I thought.

“Most of the boys seemed used to this but I was totally shocked.”

Other boys spoke of being left out of an “unknown club” and they felt lucky when invited to join.

The attacks came to light years later after rumours about Rush’s behaviour circulated around the county and victims became aware of the fact they were not alone, the court heard.

More victims came forward after news of Rush’s extradition was reported in the media.

Eleanor Laws, mitigating, said Rush was fully aware of the consequences of his offending and of his attempts to avoid justice.

She added: “He could have stayed and faced the music many years ago and he could have not resisted extradition after his arrest.

“He puts forward no excuse for what he did all those years ago.

“Since the offences he has lived a productive life. He has been a good father and husband and has tried to do good things.”

Richard Arthur Oldham, a York teacher faces jail after admitting sex assaults on boy pupils.

A teacher has pleaded guilty to 23 sex crimes over eight years including a series of sexual assaults on pupils.

Richard Arthur Oldham, 31, who has taught in at least three York primary schools, now faces a jail term and the end of his career.

His crimes included three of voyeurism where he secretly filmed children performing private acts so he could get sexual pleasure from watching them, 13 of making indecent photographs of children, one of possessing 2,076 indecent images of children and six offences of sexual assaults on boys.

The offences began with voyeurism between 2004 and 2006, continued with the indecent images between 2006 and 2012 and culminated in him sexually abusing two boys between 2010 and September 2012

Oldham, now living in North Tamerton, Holsworthy, Devon, was released on bail on condition he stays out of York, has no unsupervised contact with children, observes  an eight-hour nightly curfew and does not get travel documents.

He will return to Leeds Crown Court on September 16 to learn his sentence and  how his activities will be restricted once he has served his punishment.  He  was also put on the sex offenders register and banned from working with children.

Mark Andrew Harris, a paedophile, 39, had sex with girl aged 13.

A 39 year old PAEDOPHILE who exploited the affection of a frightened 12-year-old girl has been jailed for four years and eight months.

Mark Andrew Harris ignored an official police warning to stay away from the girl after her mother confronted him over their friendship, said Sarah Mallett, prosecuting. He was more than three times the girl’s age.

Within days of her turning 13, he had sex with her and continued to have a sexual relationship with her for months, until the mother found his texts on the girl’s mobile phone.

In her diary, the girl wrote: “I am truly and utterly in love with him.”

Harris claimed to police he had been trying to help and guide the girl, whom the court heard had a troubled past and went on to have relationships with other men.

Mrs Mallett said: “Her involvement with this defendant began a process of turning a frightened child into a very sexualised child.”

The Recorder of York, Judge Stephen Ashurst, told Harris: “What you did and the activities you engaged in with (the girl) were done by you with your eyes fully open to the situation. You exploited the affection that she was displaying towards you.”

He said: “There is only one outcome in this case. You must go to prison.”

Harris, 39, of Huntington Road, York, pleaded guilty to two charges of sexual activity with a girl.

In addition to the jail term of four years and eight months, he was placed on the sex offenders’ register, made subject to a sexual offences prevention order banning him from all contact with the girl and any unsupervised contact with any girl under 16, and disqualified from working with children, all for life.

His solicitor, Alaistair Bateman, said: “He is not a danger to young girls. This is an isolated case.”

Harris had not groomed the girl but had wanted to support her, he said. He was an isolated man whose life had been blighted by his schizophrenia and had been sectioned under the Mental Health Act for much of his adult life.

At the start was meant to be a video he sent to the “girl” but for some reason only the audio showed up.

Phillip Taylor, a Wirral “paedophilic predator” who abused eight girls over a 20-year period while pretending to be a pillar of the community was jailed for life.

Phillip Taylor, 54, groomed the parents of his victims – one as young as three – so they trusted him to look after them.

But once he got them alone he bathed them, touched them and even filmed himself abusing them.

Taylor, a dad-of-two, was only caught after one of his young victims innocently told her dad that the way he was rubbing cream into her body wasn’t the way “Philly” did it.

It transpired that complaints had been made about Taylor, a painter and decorator who has been married for more than 25 years, as far back as 2000 but he denied the allegations made by two teenagers and the Crown Prosecution Service decided not to prosecute.

But this time police who raided his home on Bratan Road, Birkenhead, recovered video clips of him actually abusing his victims, along with thousands of child porn images, giving him no choice but to plead guilty.

Sentencing at Liverpool Crown Court Judge Stephen Everett said: “You were outwardly a picture of respectability, a man who had never been in trouble before. A picture of respectability and believability and somebody to be trusted. You grossly abused that trust for your own deviant sexual pleasure”.

“I have little doubt you have no inkling at all as to the trauma you have caused those families.

“You are in my judgement cold and calculating. You are a paedophilic predator who groomed not just the girls but also their parents to trust you to look after their children which allowed you abuse those little girls.

“I have little doubt if you had not been caught you would have been willing to continue this despicable behaviour for many, many years.

“There is little doubt in my mind and my judgement from all I have heard and seen is that you will remain a dangerous offender for many, many, many years to come. It may be you will always remain a dangerous offender until the end of your life.”

He jailed Taylor for life and told him he must serve a minimum of seven-and-a-half years before he could be considered for parole but said the reality was that he would be locked up for a lot longer than that.

Judge Everett said: “I would not be surprised to see you in prison for the rest of your life.”

Russell Bishop (born 1966 in Brighton, Sussex, England) is a convicted child molester and abductor.

Bishop has now served more than 23 years in prison and is believed to be Britain’s longest serving offender for sexual offences where no “conviction” for murder was involved.

He is serving life imprisonment for the abduction, molestation and attempted murder of a seven-year-old girl in the Whitehawk area of Brighton. He committed the crime on 4 February 1990, and was sentenced on 13 December 1990. By 2007, Bishop was still in prison and one of the longest serving prisoners in Britain not to be serving a sentence for murder, despite the trial judge recommending a minimum term of 14 years which could have seen him out of prison in 2004.

Bishop first became the centre of media attention in October 1986 when he was arrested on suspicion of the murders of two nine-year-old girls whose bodies were found in Wild Park, Brighton. The murders became known as the Babes in the Wood murders after the children’s tale. The then teenager Russell Bishop, who knew both girls and once lodged at Nicola’s home in Brighton, was acquitted in 1987 of the double killing which remains one of the country’s most notorious unsolved crimes

He was cleared on both murder charges at his trial in December 1987, and the case remains open. Double jeopardy seemed to eliminate any possibility that Bishop might one day face a new trial for the murders, but new legislation in 2005 meant that a criminal could face a new trial for a crime if substantial new evidence came to light. In September 2006, the High Court decided that there was not enough for Bishop to face a second trial for the murders

Bishop is currently serving the remainder of his sentence at open prison and is due parole within the next 12 months (2012).

Warwick Spinks, a VIOLENT child sex predator recaptured following an international manhunt quaffs champagne on a luxury boat — after he was freed by a loophole.

Evil Warwick Spinks, dubbed the Pied Piper of Paedophiles, was extradited from the Czech Republic in November after 15 years on the run.

He should have then served the last 18 months of his five-year jail term. But when he was caged back in 1995 the law only allowed officials to make offenders serve part of a sentence before automatically freeing them.

That loophole was closed for absconders last year but it cannot be enforced retrospectively.

So officials had to free Spinks FOUR MONTHS after his recapture.

The pot-bellied paedo, who now calls himself property tycoon Willem van Wijk, celebrated his freedom and 49th birthday with a bash for 14 pals, including toyboy Vladimir, 34.

Spinks was first identified as a dangerous child abuser in 1992. He divided his time between England and Amsterdam, introducing sex tourists to young boys.

He told one undercover cop he could arrange sex with boys in Germany, Prague and Poland for as little as 10p. He was also secretly taped offering to supply a “snuff” video in which a boy, ten, was killed for kicks.

In 1995 he was jailed for seven years at Lewes Crown Court, East Sussex, for several offences against underage boys.

His sentence was cut to five years on appeal but when let out on licence in 1997 he fled the UK, violating his probation conditions.

Spinks was tracked down in Prague in 2000 running sex tours for paedophiles. But he evaded justice and was finally extradited last November, a coup hailed by the Child Exploitation and Online Protection Centre.

It had branded him “one of the most notorious and violent offenders we have ever dealt with”.

The Ministry of Justice refused to comment last night. But a source admitted Spinks’s release was “embarrassing”.

In Prague, where the age of consent is 15 and prostitution is legal for over 18s, vile Spinks aims to take advantage.

He told our undercover man: “I fully intend getting old disgracefully.”

1992: HE is quizzed by London cops on links to Euro paedo rings. He fixes sex with boys for tourists in Holland and offers to sell sick torture films.

1993: A LAD of 14 says he was raped at knifepoint and sold to a Dutch brothel after Spinks lured him into his home in Hastings, Sussex.

1995: SPINKS is jailed at Lewes, Sussex, for offences including drugging and kidnapping the 14-year-old boy and committing sex acts on him.

1997: DESCRIBED as “one of Britain’s most dangerous paedophiles”, Spinks is released from prison on licence and immediately flees.

Horrifying back catalogue of abuse led to his nickname ‘the Pied Piper of Paedophiles’ after bragged he could arrange sex with young boys for as little as 10p

A violent child sex offender who fled the UK and went on the run for 15 years is back in jail after being arrested in the Czech Republic.

Warwick Spinks, 48, was arrested at Heathrow after being flown from Prague on Thursday, the Child Exploitation and Online Protection Centre (CEOP) said.

He was also caught on secret camera offering to supply a video in which a 10 year old boy was killed and one featuring the horrific abuse of a young boy.

CEOP said Spinks was convicted in 1995 at Lewes Crown Court of numerous sexual offences against boys in Hastings.

He was jailed for seven years, reduced to five years on appeal in 1996.

His offences included serious sexual assault at knifepoint, taking indecent images of children and taking a child without lawful authority.

International investigation

He was released on licence on condition that he was not allowed to leave the UK without permission.

He breached the conditions in 1997 and was recalled to prison, but went missing.

Following extradition from the Czech Republic he will serve the 18 remaining months of his sentence.

His arrest followed an international investigation involving officers from CEOP, the Metropolitan Police and the Serious Organised Crime Agency (Soca).

Spinks was arrested by Czech police in August 2012. He had been using numerous aliases , including Willem Van Wijk and William Spinks, CEOP said.

Spinks fled Britain three years ago – breaking conditions of parole – after his early release from a jail term for drugging and kidnapping a 14-year-old boy who he SOLD to a gay brothel in Holland.

The fiend – described by police as one of Britain’s most dangerous paedophiles – was also suspected of masterminding an international paedophile ring and being involved in “snuff movies”. He faces instant arrest if he returns home.

Spinks BRAGGED to our investigators – posing as sex tour operators: “In Prague, a boy will spend the night with you for 400 Kronas, less than pounds 10. Just put the men on a plane and leave the rest to me. I can provide accommodation, transport and the personal touch.”

-PLOTS to make Prague as popular as Thailand for paedophiles. The city’s police have heard of kiddies as young as eight selling their bodies.

-TAUNTED Scotland Yard detectives who long to put him back behind bars and protectchildren.

Spinks, who claims to speak eight languages, boasted: “I know all the right boys. They’re all bisexual in this country. Any boy is available at the right price.

“I already have a lot of clients from Holland, Germany and Belgium. In June I have 20 arriving here. They are all spoilt b******s with lots of money.

“Amsterdam is played out now and all my old friends have moved here as well. The beauty of this place is that, like the Dutch, they have no hang-ups about sex.

“The boys are as cheap as in Thailand but are just two hours away from London by plane. The average wage here is only pounds 200 a month.

“I provide apartments because you will have a problem taking a boy back to a hotel room. There are security men on every floor and they will not allow visitors no matter how much you have paid.”

Spinks, who had his gay lover Jakob, 22, in tow, said: “Between us we have eight apartments with access to another 68.

“My apartments will give you the freedom to do what you like when you like. They are all nicely furnished and in the right locations for nightlife. I use clubs like Pinocchio’s or Escape where you get lads on the run from conscription into the army. Some of them are stunning.”

Spinks, from Greenwich, South London, proudly explained how he contacts the scum who use his services. He said: “I don’t need to advertise but have a website run by a friend in Budapest.

“Most business is by word of mouth. I have a lot of regulars who know they can trust me. The boys are also trustworthy. You don’t have to worry about them stealing from you.”

Spinks then explained how he looks after the needs of his pervert punters.

He said: “We can pick them up by car from the airport or organise a minibus if it is a large group. We will drop them off at apartments and take them out for personalised tours of all the best places.”

Spinks tries to meet any needs of his clients – down to a supply of Diet Coke in the fridge.

He said: “They all want boys. We will be flat out pampering them. Most of our business is repeat business and clients won’t come back if we don’t look after them properly.”

Spinks was convicted in 1995 of abducting the 14-year-old.

He drugged the lad, who had run away from a children’s home, and sold him as a rent boy in Holland. British and Dutch police launched an investigation after the boy fled to the British Embassy.

Spinks got seven years, cut to five years on appeal. Officers from Scotland Yard’s PaedophileSquad were furious when he got parole in 1997 after 30 months. He ignored conditions that he be supervised by probation officers and sign the Sex Offenders Register and fled – sending cops a taunting postcard from Holland.

International businessmen, lawyers and politicians were among Spinks’s clients when he ran the notorious Why Not boy brothel in Amsterdam before his arrest.

Cops in Amsterdam secretly taped Spinks offering to supply a video in which a 10-year-old boy was killed. He also said an associate had seen a boy die in the making of a film.

Spinks told our investigators at a meeting in Prague’s Wenceslas Square: “Scotland Yard would love to get their hands on me because they wasted pounds 2million investigating me.” Two minders watched from a nearby car as Spinks added: “I am well protected here.”

When one minder rumbled our photographer, Spinks started ranting and had to be calmed by passing policemen.

Barend Delport, a disgraced GP took indecent pictures of children at his surgery… then told police they were for ‘training purposes’

A married GP and Christian leader has admitted sexually assaulting child patients as young as 18 months and taking indecent photos of them during medical examinations.

Dr Barend Delport, 55, also pleaded guilty to having 500,000 indecent images of children on his computer, including some at category five, the most serious level.

Police said the South-African born doctor had committed ‘an appalling and gross breach of trust’ during his nine-year reign of abuse.

A court heard he indecently assaulted three girls, aged 14, four and 18 months, and three women, at his surgery in Swanley, Kent, between 2003 and 2012.

He was stopped only after a mother asked why her young daughter had been intimately examined and photographed by Delport when she had complained of a stomach ache.

Friends of the family GP and Baptist church elder expressed their shock that he had committed such ‘despicable crimes’ while hiding behind a facade of respectability.

Yesterday he pleaded guilty to 26 sexual offences at Maidstone Crown Court as members of his former church, Eynsford Baptist Church, and a neighbouring church packed the public gallery for the plea hearing.

Anthony Haycroft, prosecuting, said: ‘The defendant has pleaded guilty now to three offences of sexually assaulting children and three offences of sexually assaulting adults, as well as a plethora of offences for possessing, making and taking indecent images of children.

‘He had thousands of images downloaded from the internet of children and hundreds of images of child patients that he himself has taken. The crown regards these offences as of the utmost severity.’

Delport persuaded parents that he needed to conduct a genital examination of their children, before taking graphic images of the young patients.

After police received a complaint in March, a letter was sent to every patient at The Oaks surgery urging them to get in touch if they had concerns. It provoked a string of similar allegations, spanning a decade.

Delport initially tried to claim that the images of patients were for ‘training purposes’ or because it was ‘the worst he had ever seen’ of a particular illness.

Shortly after his arrest, Delport resigned from the surgery and fled the £500,000 three-bedroom home he shared with his wife Sally in the village of Eynsford. Friends said he had been warned by police to leave the area because he could be targeted by the families of victims.

Delport attended religious conferences in Canada and even wrote a book published in 2008, called Interpreting Visions, Dreams And Symbols From A Biblical Perspective.

A source said: ‘People trusted him with their lives to guide them and give them advice when, all along, he was a paedophile. He believed God would talk to him directly about what was wrong with a patient. No one can believe what was actually going on. It is shocking.’

Friends said Delport earned more than £100,000 a year and enjoyed spending his money on golfing holidays, clothes and technology.

The GP will remain in prison until sentencing next month. Judge Martin Joy told him there would be ‘an inevitable, lengthy custodial sentence’.

Delport has already been suspended by the General Medical Council and is expected to be struck off the medical register following sentencing.

Robert Hunter, a North-East paedophile forced children around world to make sex films

A PERVERT’S sickening collection of home-made sex films involving children was found after one of his victims alerted police thousands of miles away from his home.

Officers in Tasmania were able to trace paedophile Robert Hunter through his sleazy computer use, and tipped off colleagues in the UK who raided his home in Middlesbrough.

The extent and depravity of his online activities is said to have shocked the most experienced detectives and could result in an extended prison sentence for public protection.

Hunter, 35, will be sentenced when he appears at Teesside Crown Court next month. He was remanded in custody yesterday (Friday, August 2) after admitting a string of serious charges.

It emerged during the hearing that Hunter contacted girls as young as 11 all over the world and encouraged them to film themselves in sexual acts so he could watch on a webcam.

He used a video he obtained of a naked teenage boy – claiming it was him – to persuade the youngsters.

Although ten girls appear on the charges he has admitted, Hunter had made online contact with hundreds of others in the Far East, Europe, Australia and in this country.

When his victims had second thoughts about doing what he instructed, he threatened to tell their relatives what they had been up to, prosecutor Richard Bennett said.

After police raided his home in December 2011, they found a folder on his computer called “me” where he had created false identities such as Josh, Joshua and Justin.

More than 800 films and stills taken from them were discovered on the machine, said Mr Bennett. None of the images he had amassed had been downloaded from the internet.

“It has been a fairly involved case and there are a number of disturbing aspects above and beyond the number of complainants,” the prosecutor told Judge Howard Crowson.

Mr Bennett said he will be seeking a sentencing under ‘dangerousness’ provisions, and Judge Crowson said: “There is no doubt where Mr Hunter is going to be spending his time.”

The judge described Hunter’s crimes, which were carried out between 2009 and 2011, as “persistent” and told him: “Obviously, you should expect a long prison sentence.”

Hunter, of Brough Court, Middlesbrough, pleaded guilty to 15 charges of causing or inciting a child to engage in sexual activity and 14 of making indecent photos of children.

David Reid, a reggae musician once signed to Manchester’s legendary Factory Records has been jailed for abusing and raping a young girl in the early 1980s.

David Reid, 55, was locked up for 16 years for a series of historic sex offences, including rape and indecent assault, against one victim.

Reid was formerly a guitarist with Manchester band X-O-Dus. They were the only reggae artists on Tony Wilson’s Factory Records label and released a well-known single, English Black Boys, in 1980.

But after the record’s release Reid’s mental health deteriorated and he has suffered with paranoid schizophrenia for thirty years.

The court heard how Reid had nightmares where he was ‘visited and taken by the devil’ who dragged him down by his ankles.

But his sex crimes in the 1980s were not caused or provoked by his illness, the judge said.

During his sentencing hearing at Manchester Crown Court , Reid interrupted prosecutor Michael Morley and said “He’s telling lies”.

Later in the hearing, the defendant added “I’ve had enough.

“I have had enough of these lies”.

Reid, of Easthope Close, Withington , earlier admitted four charges of indecent assault against a young girl, but denied four counts of rape against the same victim.

He was found guilty of all rape charges after a trial.

Mr Morley, prosecuting, told how Reid repeatedly abused and raped a young girl in theMoss Side area over a three-year period in the early 1980s. His victim is still undergoing counselling to help her deal with the attacks against her, it was heard.

Chudi Grant, defending, said: “He’s someone who has struggled with his own demons daily, and requires medication to cope with these demons.”

Judge Iain Hamilton said  that after reading two differing psychiatric reports on Reid, it was not suitable to section him under the Mental Health Act, and that the defendant should be jailed for 16 years.

Daniel Bottger, a child rapist has been jailed for 14 years after being found guilty by a jury who were reduced to tears by evidence heard during the five-day trial.

Daniel Bottger attacked the young girl while babysitting her, Hull Crown Court heard.

During a recorded interview, shown to the jury, the victim told a specially trained police officer: “I have been brave at hospital. They gave me medicine.”

The jury took three and a half hours to find Bottger, 24, unanimously guilty of two counts of rape on a child aged under 13.

Clutching a Disney Princess Belle doll, the child played on the sofa in the police interview suite as she relived her ordeal.

She revealed to the interviewer how she had immediately told her mother she had been hurt when she came to collect her.

Bottger, from Hull, but of no fixed address, had only been alone with the girl for two and a half hours, the court heard.

Prosecutor Richard Woolfall said: “It hurt her and upset her and left her with some injuries.

“She was unable to keep what had happened to herself and told her mother. She later told medical staff and then went on to tell the police.”

Pervert David East has been jailed for 17 years after he repeatedly raped a vulnerable girl.

The 41-year-old denied a series of sexual offences, all against the same victim, but was convicted by a jury at Stoke-on-Trent Crown Court last month.

East, of Den Lane, Crewe, was found guilty of 11 charges of rape, five offences of indecent assault and one charge of sexual assault.

The court heard the youngster made a complaint soon after the sexual activity began, but was not believed by the person she confided in.

East first raped the girl when she was a schoolgirl but she did not tell anyone as she did not think she would be believed.

The pervert went on to rape the girl on a regular basis and had unprotected sexual intercourse with her.

The victim, who lived in North Staffordshire, eventually reported the abuse to police last year.

East, who still maintains his innocence, has no previous convictions.

Adam Watkins, mitigating, said: “There were no threats to induce silence.

“There was no extreme control or possessive behaviour.”

Mr Watkins added that East’s lengthy custodial sentence will not just affect him, but on his young family as well.

Sentencing East, Judge Paul Glenn said: “Through the years of abuse, she told no-one.

“She did not think she would be believed as no-one believed her previously. She bottled it up.

“She was a vulnerable child when you began the abuse of her.

“She has been significantly affected by what you did. You have blighted her life.

“These were committed for your own sexual gratification.”

Judge Glenn placed East on the sex offenders’ register for the rest of his life and barred him from a range of activities involving children and vulnerable adults.

East will serve no more than half the 17-year sentence with the rest on licence.

After the sentence, DC Paul Edwards, from Staffordshire Police’s adult protection team, said: “Staffordshire Police is committed to protecting children and other vulnerable members of the community.

He added: “We thoroughly investigate all allegations of sexual abuse, including historic offences, and work with partners to tackle these serious crimes in a sensitive manner.”
