Samuel Bradley, a teaching assistant who texted indecent images of himself to a girl pupil at a South Yorkshire school and then started a sexual relationship with her has been jailed for three years.
Samuel Bradley, 23, of Marbeck Close, Dinnington was jailed for 36 months at Sheffield Crown Court last week.
He had pleaded guilty to the sexual grooming of a child, sexual activity with a child whilst in a position of trust and possession of indecent images of children at an earlier hearing.
He chatted up one victim on Facebook, then swapped naked images of himself – some sent under the desk in class. The pair met for secret trysts away from the Rotherham school premises and had a ‘consensual’ sexual relationship.
But Bradley also admitted sending indecent pictures of himself to two other teenage girls.
The offences were committed against more than one girl whilst he was working as a teaching assistant at a school in Rotherham during 2011 and 2012.
He was placed on the sex offenders register for life and was also given a sex offender prevention order, which prevents him working with children in the future.
Detective Constable Gareth Gent said: “The police worked closely with the school, the education authority and children and young people’s service to identify the crimes and support the victims.”
“Everyone involved has worked very hard to bring Bradley to justice and we will continue to track down and prosecute anyone who continues to commit crimes against children here in Rotherham.”
Detective Inspector Mark Monteiro, public protection lead at Rotherham said:”This is a clear case of child sexual exploitation and a teaching assistant abusing his position of trust. South Yorkshire Police will vigorously pursue those exploiting any children.”
